On Monday, Governor Newsom signed executive order N-18-19 directing the California Division of Public Well being (CDPH) to launch a $20 million digital and social media public awareness campaign across the state to educate youth, young adults, and parents about prospective dangers of vaping nicotine and cannabis solutions.
Newsom also signed Senator Jerry Hill’s bill, SB39, which implements stricter age verification for tobacco solutions sold on the internet and via the mail.

As aspect of the new executive order, the Division of Tax and Charge Administration will draft suggestions to get rid of illegal and counterfeit vaping solutions from retail outlets and cut down youth consumption via enhanced enforcement and regulation.
The executive order also directs CDPH to establish warning indicators in ads and areas exactly where vaping solutions are sold to support cut down their availability to underage persons.
CDPH will be generating suggestions for the establishment of requirements for nicotine content material in vaping solutions and uniform packaging to indicate nicotine content material and electronic cigarette tax calculation.
